Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We welcome you to the 5th International Symposium on Halogen Bonding (ISXB5), which will be held at Kazusa Academia Park in Kisarazu, Chiba, Japan on November 6-10, 2022.
As with the previous symposia in this series, the aim of ISXB5 is to bring together scientists and engineers from a variety of disciplines, but with a common interest in the halogen bond and related interactions. The symposium will cover both experimental and theoretical aspects of a broad range of fields such as medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, materials science and industrial applications through keynote addresses, invited presentations and posters.
Kazusa Academia Park is a high-quality convention and resort complex situated on the spacious ground of Kazusa hills. Kazusa Academia Hall provides a wide range of conference facilities including a large main hall. Okura Academia Park hotel offers a comfortable and relaxing stay in a tranquil atmosphere with a rich natural environment. It is conveniently located close to both Haneda Tokyo and Narita Tokyo Airport.
Kisarazu is located in the midwestern part of the Boso Peninsula which is the large peninsula just east of Tokyo. Boso Peninsula is well connected to the city by train, bus and expressway. The fairly developed western coast faces Tokyo Bay and is connected to Tokyo via the Aqua Line expressway, a combination of tunnel and bridge. Mt Fuji can be seen from Kisarazu on a clear day.
East side of Boso Peninsula has Kujukuri Beach, which is one of the longest beach in Japan and is very popular among surfers. Most of the cities along the coastline of Boso Peninsula has great ports. So, fish markets are very active in Boso Peninsula. Inside of the Boso Peninsula is mountain. There are many beautiful nature and golf course. Boso peninsula is also famous for iodine production. More than 20% iodine world production comes from this area.
